What Should I Ask Myself Before Reading a Book?
By The Traveller
Hey, Fellow T’s, (Travelers)
Today’s summary will come in a few hrs. I was going through some of the takeaways and thought, Why don’t I share a few questions that I ask myself before I dive into a book for the journey?
1) Do I enjoy this?
2) Is this worth finishing?
3) Is this worth my time, focus, and energy?
4) Is this related to what I know already?
These questions are truly the most important before reading any book, article, news, or any type of information. We each have a limited time in this world, and honestly, I don’t want to spend my time reading a book or any information which, after going through with it, I’d blame myself for wasting time on this.
Sometimes, knowledge might be good, but that does not mean that I would like it, too. Why would I want to waste my time on something which I don’t enjoy.
If I don’t like the book then its better to just stop then and there instead of thinking that it might get better after a few pages or scrolling a few more paragraphs in an article.
Every second of every minute of every hour is precious, and wasting it on something that is irrelevant and might not be something that I would implement in my life and use my precious brain space and energy is a waste and should be discarded ASAP.
I understand Authors put their time and effort into each book, but sometimes that information is not our cup of tea. If you still want to go with it, then it’s better to go through summaries, which you can easily find all over the internet. This will give you a snapshot of the book, and you can understand the basic concepts and see if it’s worth it or not.
The Main Aim for writing takeaways from books that I’ve read is so that my fellow travelers of books like yourselves can have a snapshot and the core ideas of what the book is about and will help you see if it’s worth your precious time and energy and sometimes many books are mostly having the same concepts so going through the takeaways will help in consolidating the ideas that are already in your brain by different books more solid and help you understand more.
Well, that’s about it. The next Summary coming up soon. Thank you again for your trust in giving me your email, and I hope that the takeaways that you read, even implementing just 1% of it in your lives, would mean the world to me and give me great honor.
Always Remember. Knowledge is only useful if implemented; otherwise, it wastes time, effort, and precious limited brain space.
Thank you.
P.S. Pray for Palestine. We have our Plans, and God has his Plans, and HIS plans are above Ours Always.
